Visit to Ponducherry

Auroville is located on the way from Chennai to Ponducherry, and is within the Ponducherry province. It was started in February 1968 on a piece of red earth barren land. It consist of 90 settlements and inhabited by nearly 1700 people from 35 countries. Part of its charter says that it belongs to nobody, but humanity. It is a dream land, where no nation can claim as its own.

Ponducherry was a French colony, so french architecture buildings everywhere at the town centre. Even the street names are in French. Unfortunately no photo is allowed at the museum and at the meditation centre, so you do not see any picture in the video.

St Thomas Basilica, Mylapore, Chennai

St Thomas came to India in AD52, died as a myrtyr in AD72 and was buried at Mylapore,St Thome, Chennai. The basilica was built over the tomb of St Thomas. Watch the video for more.

Visit to Anna and MGR Memorials

After finishing business on Friday afternoon, we visited the Annadurai and MGR memorial park. Both were previously Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu State. The memorial park is located at the main CBD and next to the Marina Beach. We started off at Anna Memorial and then U-turn back to MGR Memorial as captured in the video below.

Ayuthal Pooja @ SMD Technology, Chennai

The annual Ayuthal Pooja was held in the Chennai factory on 8 October. Ayuthal Pooja is giving blessings to all equipments of trade so that the coming year will bring more businesses to the company.

Pooja for Bangalore New Location

SMD Bangalore held a pooja ceremony at the new factory on 15 June. Below is the video slides of the ceremony. The new factory is located on the same block but is situated on the 2nd storey instead of the 1st storey previously.

New Factory Locations for Chennai and Bangalore

Chennai and Bangalore manufacturing locations will be on the move soon. The Chennai location is a distant away from the present place while the Bangalore location remains at the KSSDI Complex Block I but at a different unit. View the video below for more.
